Davood Zandian was born in 1954 in Isfahan, Iran and moved to Norway in the late 1980s where he continued his artistic career.
In spite of the warm colors Davood uses, the feelings in his canvases reflect a quietness, emptiness and solitude that are amalgamations of his dreams, the life style and feelings that surrounds him after he moved to Norway, where he resides at the moment. He illustrates his thoughts with images he has grown up with visualizing them through symbols, characters in lifeless and quite simple spaces of everyday objects, simple still life paintings of his surroundings. His paintings of artist tools are such examples.
He has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally.
