AROUND SEVEN

Around Seven brings together a diverse group of professional artists and designers from the American University of Dubai, working across a range of media including drawing, printmaking, painting, textiles, photography, video, and installation.

Hailing from Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the participating artists represent a range of backgrounds and approaches. What connects their practices is a shared engagement with environment and place, exploring how artists and designers respond to the world around them.

For some, the immediate environment of Dubai provides the starting point, whether through its distinctive imagery, colours, architecture, or Islamic cultural influences. Others respond to broader global conditions, reflecting on the wider social and cultural environments in which they live and work.
