MOHAMMAD EHSAI

Mohammad Ehsai is one of the leading artists incorporating Persian script into new artistic expressions shaped by symbolic art forms.

Ehsai has married the technical finesse of his formal training with a modern visual schema, resulting in a simple yet unique visual language. Through enlargement, repetition, contrast and layering, his works assume an almost architectural and fractal quality. He uses colour like a painter and rhythm like a composer.

The exhibition has two parts: the first presents his traditional Nastaliq writing, while the second features selected works from his recent practice, using dense, interlaced texts that create an abstract composition of letters and colour.
