Organised by Total Arts Gallery and The Flying House, Portrait brings together the work of eight contemporary Emirati artists, exploring the concept of portraiture beyond the traditional representation of the human face or figure.

At the heart of the exhibition is an exploration of the hidden, unknown, and untouched aspects of reality, approached through both direct observation of nature and abstract representation. Portrait considers how an artwork can function as a portrait without necessarily depicting a person, opening up questions about perception, identity, and the relationship between the individual and the world around them.

The exhibition brings together eight artists whose practices offer distinct interpretations of the idea that everything in the universe can be understood as a portrait of the human being.
