Duo Exhibition: Shirin Neshat & Fereydoun Ave
The exhibition presents a dialogue between two classical figures and the elements that connect their respective bodies of work. In their own ways, both artists search for complex, multilayered identities.
The exhibition brings together Fereydoun Ave’s works from his various Book of Kings series, created over the years, primarily consisting of mixed-media and collage works on paper, including the more recent series Rostam in Iranestan (2018) and Rostam’s Puzzles (2018).
Alongside images from Shirin Neshat’s Book of Kings series, Masses and Patriot (2012–2013), the exhibition also presents her sketches, studies, and tests for the projects, revealing the journey that led to their final presentation. Neshat is best known for her videos, photographs, and films, while Ave is recognised for his mixed-media works on paper.
