Yemen: Treasure Trove presents a selection of photographs from a collaborative project realised in 2009, bringing together the perspectives of 11 photographers and a filmmaker, including Samar Jodha, Kamran Jebreili, Jason Larkin, Katarina Premfors, Manuel Salazar, Simone Santi, Souheil Semaan, Dariush Zandi, and filmmaker Nader Bagherpour.
Yemen is a land with more than 7,000 years of history, retaining a distinct cultural character shaped by its traditions, architecture, and way of life. Its centuries-old buildings and enduring customs have led it to be described as a living museum. Known to the Romans as Arabia Felix, Yemen is the legendary land of the Queen of Sheba, the birthplace of coffee, and a historic crossroads for caravans travelling between the Indian Ocean, across the desert, and towards the Mediterranean.
