Farid Jahangir’s paintings are timeless and not pretentious. He is able to capture, on his canvases, the dynamic relationship between the artist and his environment: the sensitivity of the landscape, the mountain in shadow & light, the earth’s surface as well as his home and studio. Jahangir’s earlier works are in acrylic and recently entirely in oils, he has developed his own style in private over the last 35 years of his uninterrupted career.

His starting point could be his photos as his sketches, but moving forward, his imagination is taking over. The final image blurs the boundaries between personal and realistic.
