Mostafa Dashti is an Iranian painter whose practice has evolved from the representation of desert landscapes toward increasingly abstract explorations of nature, space, light, and form. Born in Khash in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, his early relationship with the vast landscapes of the region continues to inform his work, even as recognizable forms gradually dissolve into atmospheric and abstract compositions.

Working primarily through painting, Dashti creates richly layered surfaces in which earth, sky, movement, and light appear to merge. His large-scale canvases are less concerned with depicting a specific landscape than with capturing its shifting sensations and details. Deeply rooted in nature, his paintings occupy a space between figuration and abstraction, allowing forms to emerge, transform, and recede within the pictorial field.

Dashti studied painting and calligraphy with Aydin Aghdashloo, Seyed Ahmad Abtahi, and Abdollah Faradi. He has been devoted to painting since the 1980s and has exhibited extensively in Iran and internationally, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the UAE. His work has been presented at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and has been included in international exhibitions and collections.
